Since my work is all about career coaching, you may be wondering why we’re talking about therapy this week. After all, isn’t therapy just for when you need emotional/mental support—not career guidance?
Au contraire, dear listener. In fact, I think therapy and coaching can really complement each other, approaching the problem of “something about my life isn’t working” from different angles to help you find a well-rounded solution. Specifically, while coaching often involves a lot of exercises digging into the external facts of your life—skills, past experiences, strengths, and the like—therapy helps you do the tough work of turning inwards to find your truth.
This all may sound a little woo woo, but trust me, it’s not.
